Going into the Brno race, the main aim for Vitaphone Racing was to bring home as many points as possible. Their challenge would be hindered by the ballast assigned after the superb displays at Spa and Bucharest. With Bertolini / Bartels taking sixth and Negraõ/Ramos in seventh, it was mission accomplished. For the next race at Nogaro the ballast will be much lighter, making life easier for the MC12.

Sixth pleased Bertolini and Bartels though they were a little put out about the ten seconds lost in the pit lane; a delay that meant they missed out on chance to finish higher. Overall, Bertolini/Bartels have a 13.5 point lead over team mates Ramos/Negraõ; in the Teams’ championship, Vitaphone Racing Team still has a healthy advantage.
