Confirming their fine performance from the morning, the N°1 MC12 driven by Bertolini/Bartels finished the ninety-minute session in first place with 1:40.923, just two thousandths up on the N°33 MC12 with Pier Guidi/Bobbi behind the wheel (1:40.933). The Vitaphone Racing Team DHL ran 35 laps, the most covered by the three MC12s on the track.

Fifth went to Müller /Ramos in a time of 1:41.353, a little over a tenth down on Kumpen/Hezemans’ Corvette.

Conditions were a little more overcast than in the morning and but rain is unlikely for qualifying, planned for today at 16.45. 

It was an encouraging start for the Modenese cars, despite the ballast they have to carry, as they found their feet on a superb track with plenty of rises and falls.

The Müller /Ramos duo posted the best time (1:40.979) as the session drew to a close. The time just edged out overall Drivers’ leaders Bertolini/Bartels (1:41.450). The lap put in by the reigning champions proves how competitive the car is even with ballast on board and both Bertolini and Bartels were pacy throughout.

Pier Guidi/Bobbi also did well to set the fourth quickest time (1:42.275). The two Italians were forced to pit fifteen minutes from the end of the session with a puncture. The damage was done when a rim gave way after clipping a stone on the outside of a curve. Luckily, there was no harm done to the car.
