The race will be held at the Belgium track on Saturday.

The rain that fell during the two pre-qualifying sessions meant that the teams had to find the best set up for the wet and the dry. The forecast for the weekend is for more variable weather.
In the morning session, the No.2 Maserati MC12, fielded by Vitaphone Racing Team and driven by Bernoldi and Ramos, set the fastest time when the circuit was still dry.

The drivers had to cope with the occasional violent downpour in session 2 and this time it was the Triple H Team Hegersport pairing of Bert Longin/Nico Verdonck that posted the second fastest time. For Belgian driver Verdonck it was a first outing in the No.34 Maserati MC12.
