The session was held at the Algarve circuit ahead of the Championship Race in the afternoon. The Bartels/Bertolini pairing completed twelve laps during the session with a best time of 1:43.747, just seven tenths down on that set by Jani/Prost’s Matech Ford GT.

The No.2 Vitaphone Racing Team Maserati MC12 driven by Bernoldi/Ramos came in thirteenth, two places ahead of Heger/Mueller’s No.33 car, fielded by Triple H Team Hegersport. This morning the man behind the wheel for the whole stint was Alex Mueller.

The other Triple H Team Hegersport car, the No.34 Maserati MC12 with Pier Guidi/Mayr-Melnhof on board, ran only seven laps and posted the 18th best time overall. The crew focused on trying to find the most suitable set up and worked on the driver changes.

Bartels/Bertolini No.1 Maserati MC12 will line up on the front row in this afternoon’s 16.30 (Italian time) Championship Race. Lining up alongside them will be the Nissan GT-R crewed by Dumbreck/Krumm.
