The two Maserati crews are different to the ones who appeared in Brazil. Turning out again will be Bartels/Bertolini and Heger/Mueller while Miguel Ramos, from Portugal, returns alongside Bernoldi in the N.2 Vitaphone Racing Team car. The N. 34, fielded by Triple H Team Hegersport, will see Italian Pier Guidi and Belgian Nico Verdonck share the drive.

On Friday, SRO organised an event at the Estancia Grande Polo Club attended by some championship drivers who enjoyed watching a polo match. The venue, found close to San Luis, will host the preliminary rounds of the polo World Championships that will be held next year in Argentina.

Representing Maserati were Andrea Bertolini and Alex Mueller. Among the other guests was John Marshall Watson, the Irish Formula 1 driver from the 1970s, and the governor of the Province San Luis, Alberto Rodriguez Saa.
