Chiesa: I would even have turned up at Portimao on a Vespa
Andrea Chiesa: "I would even have turned up at Portimao on a Vespa"
Andrea Chiesa: "This Quattroporte Evo is much more competitive than the one I drove over the past two years. At Valencia it was hard just watching the action from the pit lane but I didn’t make anything of it because I had agreed with the team that I wouldn’t have competed if the second car wasn’t ready.
Now I am relaxed because I have seen just how attentively the engineer Giuseppe Angiulli and the other technicians have worked to prepare my Quattroporte Evo. Also, the basic set up they developed for the first model always did well wherever we used it for winter testing.
So, I don’t think I will need too much time for tweaking the car: the free practice hour should be enough. Having 10 kg of ballast after the Monza performance doesn’t concern me either as I am used to being overweight: in the past two years I drove a car that had around 100 kg of extra weight to carry!
I think everything is in place to do well."
