"At the start I tried to overtake Nicolò Piancastelli to latch onto Pier Guidi and Bertolini and managed to do it. I wanted to stick with them but a GT Cup car slowed me down and I dropped four or five seconds before the pit stop. I even had a few problems at the obligatory stop. All in all, it went well and the longer race didn't really bother me".

Emanuele Smurra (5th overall - 2nd Team): "I am getting used to the podium and when it happens in Rome, like it did today, I am extra happy because this is like being at home with all my friends here. Even though I started from the back I did well to climb through the field. It was a shame about the clash in the pit lane as I lost a bit of time there. I would like to thank Maserati, the sponsors who have supported me and the friends who have come along to cheer me on".
